Participants

The tour is designed to accommodate a maximum of 6 participants, excluding the 2 tour leaders. We will have a private driver with us for the entirety of the tour.

Habitats

The trip covers a myriad of habitats - including evergreen forests, coffee plantations, high-altitude shola grasslands, tea plantations, deciduous forests and scrub, as well as parks and gardens.

Climate

We expect regular and heavy rainfall on most days, and that is part of the monsoon experience. The temperatures range from warm in the daytime to cool in the night.

Although it doesn’t get very cold, a set of warm clothes is recommended.

Tour pace

The tour will involve moderate and comfortable amounts of walking. Some inclines are to be expected; and the scope and range of exertion is entirely up to the participants.

Photographic opportunities

There will be excellent photographic opportunities available for those with an interest in birds, macros, and landscapes. However, be prepared to have some difficult days in case of rain; or carry adequate protection for your electronics.

Additional notes

Adequate rain gear (rain jacket and pants, rain coats, or a strong poncho) is highly recommended. Wellingtons/Gumboots are recommended if luggage space allows.

Some locations are likely to have a fair number of leeches - do carry repellants accordingly. Leech socks will be provided.
